- Renting cars in Texas can be expensive, the taxes & fees were almost as much as the car to rent.
- We opted for an "economy" car figuring we would be doing a lot of driving and didn't plan to bring a lot with us. They gave us a Toyota Yaris.
- Just because the company has a "no smoking" policy, does not mean the people who had the car before you follow that rule!
- We needed a car with a decent backseat for the car seat. This worked for us, probably not a lot of other people!
We pulled up to a BBQ restaurant and my husband said he felt like a sissy for driving this thing! (He is used to my SUV and sporty cars, so to him this was like a go cart!)
The center photo shows our Clic-It stroller frame in the back, which we also had issues with fitting. The stroller frame was too wide for the "trunk." The important thing to note was that this was a stroller frame that holds the car seat, not a regular stroller.
The photo at the top of this post shows our purple carry-on, diaper bag, cooler bag, the car seat (with two green feet kicking around), and the stroller frame all in the backseat.
What were the positives?? Well, we only went through 1/2 a tank of gas in 5 days of driving all over the place, we fit in almost any parking spot, and the trunk area was a great level to change our son's diaper when on the go!
