The District During the day these venues are all-ages, however each time I walked though I found them to be empty! Once the sun goes down, they become adults-only venues. The District is comprised of 687 (sports bar), Pink (champagne bar), Skyline Lounge (with an ever-changing backdrop of famous cities), Evolution Lounge, and the District Lounge. Select the thumbnails below to view them with descriptions and in a larger size. |
Quiet Cove Pool This 18-and-older pool area is dedicated to serene relaxation and sunning. The Quiet Cove Pool includes the Cove Bar that has seats in the pool to keep your feet cool on a hot cruising day. There is a 4-foot deep plunge pool and a 6-inch deep sunbathing pool to enjoy out in the open air. Under the canopy you can find two bubbling hot tubs with acrylic floors that give you a view 11-decks down to the sea. |
Serenity Bay at Castaway Cay Disney's private island has so many features to keep a family entertained. However, there is a great place for you if you're traveling sans-children or have yous kids playing at Scuttle's Cove (the supervised kids area on the island). Serenity Bay includes private massage cabanas, Air Bar, and a shaded eating pavilion. While most people can, and will, use the trams to drive them over to this secluded section of the island, my mom and I chose to walk it. I guess we needed to balance out some of the noshing we'd been doing. ;) It took us approximately 20-25 minutes to walk there, but the tram is less than a few minute ride. Either way, you travel along the airstrip. I assume it is used for emergency situations and delivering staples to the island. A tram passed us every couple of minutes and many families on bikes went by as well. |
After a couple of hours we wandered over to the beach bbq. I was, as the trend was on this trip, very impressed with the food options. I must sound like such a pig commenting on food so much, but it truly was delicious. They had burgers, hot dogs, a variety of sausages, mahi-mahi, chicken, couscous, etc. You could definitely eat healthy on this cruise, if that's your sort of thing. I opted to indulge!
After lunch we waded through the water ad came across a sting-ray. we followed him around for a bit and then snapped some pictures of the colorful fish and minnows that circled around our feet. By the time we chose to head back to the ship I had to remind myself that this was a Disney island.
